Roadrunner shower head

Roadrunner 1.59GPM Shower Head

As some of you may know, we just moved into a new apartment. This doesn’t give much room for making eco friendly changes but where we can… we are improving. I just a few minutes ago installed the Roadrunner 1.59 GPM Shower Head in both the showers so that’ll help.

It took all of about 5 minutes to do both showers. Everything (including the plumbers tape..ya know the white tape stuff to wrap around the pipe) is included. It was easy peasy to change out both shower heads. If I could do it, anyone can make the eco friendly swap in minutes. The only set back I had was I was standing right under the shower head when I took it off to put the tape on after a test run w/o the tape, so naturally I got wet from the overflow but that was my stupidity in standing right there DUH! but, hey DD found it humorous so it was worth it!

So, now we’ll save water and of course money too on smaller water bills.
This is a for sure must have for everyone!

Get yours nowhere and join us in saving water.

Roadrunner 1.59 GPM Shower Head
This high-tech showerhead saves additional water and energy while you wait for your shower to turn on.
Your Price: $40.00
Your Roadrunner shower head lets the cold water run out of your showerhead, then stops the flow and waits until you are ready to get in. Your water is warm and waiting, not wasted. You restart the flow by pulling on a cord (not shown) or flipping the lever (the small ShowerStart technology attachment shown on the side of the shower head). The pressure compensating technology delivers a great feeling shower even in homes with lower water pressure.

Green Irene says: Over 5 years this one little shower head will save you at least 38,325 gallons of water and 1,150 in energy costs. Based on family of 3 showering daily and saving 1 minute of hot water per shower during warm up and 4.5 gallons while taking a 5 minute shower using 1.59 gpm vs a standard 2.5 gpm showerhead with a energy cost of .03/gallon of hot water.

Eco Tuesday: LED Lighting

Posted by Tara Burner on September 23, 2008

The LED (Light Emitting Diode) light bulb is actually a cluster of individual LED units.

Energy efficiency – LED light bulbs burn very cool, while incandescent bulbs emit 98 per cent of their energy as heat!

Long life – LED lights can last from 50,000 to 100,000 hours. Incandescent light bulbs typically last around 1,000 hours and fluorescents are good for roughly 10,000 hours.
