Instant gratification?

Posted by Tara Burner on December 20, 2009

Are we in an instant gratification society now?
According to UrbanDictionary.com it means 1)immediate satisfaction; the quick attainability of happiness or of contentness.
Yep, that sounds about right!

Food is now instant, you can take something from box to microwave and have a “meal” in matter of a minute rather than cook from scratch. We have instant coffee, instant potatoes, fast food, etc.

We can get emails within seconds rather than wait for snail mail for days or more.

Those with Blackberries, iPhones, Gphones, etc. you can get Facebook and Twitter updates no matter where you are and in a millisecond.

We have express overnight mail and priority mail now to speed up the process of snail mail. However, even then apparently people still want that instant gratification, but yet at the same time complain about the price of shipping. Yes, stamps are .44 at this time and priority flat rate box is almost $5.00. Yet show me how you can get from say Florida to Alaska to deliver a package for $5.00 or less! Show me how you can get your letter from point A to point B for less than .44
People are complaining about the cost of shipping yet, I know I can’t physically get my letter or package anywhere myself for less than what USPS charges.

What does that have to do with instant gratification you may ask?
Recently I sold a lot of things on eBay and through my Affordable Mineral Makeup company and people were less than friendly when they didn’t get their items almost instantly!
Some eBay items were listed as being shipped via Parcel Post (because of weight/size of item it’d have cost more than most would want to ship if offered via Priority Mail) and yet the same people who complain that they do not want to pay priority shipping do still want priority arrival time. Parcel post takes longer to deliver…you know the saying “you get what you pay for”, if you want faster delivery…pay for priority! One should not expect to get a parcel post package in 3 days (unless you’re local to the originating zip code), so there really isn’t any need to email the seller reaming them out about what’s taking so long. Additionally, are we so lazy that when provided with tracking information rather than copy/paste that into USPS track/confirm we’d instead spend more time emailing a nasty email to seller because somehow that’s going to make the package you wanted shipped “cheaper” to get there faster?

Orders being shipped out of country obviously take longer and especially during the holiday season. However, try to explain that to some who find it much easier to ream the seller out and demand answers as to where their order is. Yet, the time they invested in sending emails they could have easily spent tracking the item to see where it is or contacting their customs and postal services with tracking information to find out exactly what the status is. Is it unrealistic to think a package going from one country overseas to another may take awhile?

When there appears to be a problem with an item that is insured are we so lazy that instead of filing an insurance claim with the carrier, we make excuses and try to pass it off on someone else? The issue could be resolved simply by spending few minutes with the carrier, file the insurance claim and get your money back but instead one will spend a lot more time sending nasty emails rather than do the required act of filing a claim with the carrier. That goes against the instant gratification concept to a degree and just equates to being lazy or not wanting to have to do something themselves to resolve their own problem. That person wants someone else to give them instant gratification and handle the issue for them, rather than them taking their misguided ranting cussing emails and instead spending that time dealing one on one with carrier to resolve the issue.

I know I sponsor 3 children via Compassion International and it takes approximately 2 months for communication with the children. Our letters have to go to the main department, then to the country where the child is, then a translator has to translate the letter, then deliver to the child. Is that an unreasonable amount of time? I don’t think so. Yes, I’d like them to get my mail sooner as I’d like to receive theirs back sooner and know what they’ve been doing,  but is that reasonable or even feasible? No!

Life isn’t about instant gratification and if one expects that they should receive it in all matters, they’re in for disappointment.

How can a society that exists on instant mashed potatoes, packaged cake mixes, frozen dinners, and instant cameras teach patience to its young? ~Paul Sweeney

Gamestop ~ excellent customer service!

Posted by Tara Burner on December 15, 2009

Wow, in under 20 minutes from my last post I’ve had two excellent customer service encounters!
First one…lets just say I will not be buying games from Target ever again!
All games will be purchased at

gamestop

GameStop #1667
Boulevard Square
10900 PINES BLVD
Pembroke Pines FL, 33026
(954) 392-3838

Because, last night after my ordeal with lousy Target service, I called GameStop and a young dude said he had 2 of the games and he’d put one aside for me til this morning! Cool!
I just went to GameStop and sure enough I got the last copy of this game!
Excellent!
The kid (okay anyone under the age of like 30 is a ‘kid’ to me–but he was probably in his 20’s) this morning was exceptionally nice, carried on conversation and found where the other ‘kid’ had put my game on hold.
Awesome!
So, problem resolved in under 20 minutes which is less time than I spent on the phone with the lousy people from Target.
GameStop is my new place to get games!

Lousy Customer Service thoughts

Posted by Tara Burner on

Yes, I know it’s the holiday season…it happens every year like clockwork.
Christmas, then a few weeks later my daughter’s birthday.
Knowing that stores don’t often restock items in time to wait to buy her birthday gifts I get them at same time as Christmas.
So, if something I order online isn’t in stock right then it’s not a problem (or shouldn’t be a problem) since odds are they can ship it by the first week of January.
Not the case this year apparently with Target.
For the first time ever, I’m totally annoyed with them.
I ordered two items the middle of November (yes, before Thanksgiving).
One item shipped and I received it already.
I then got an email stating the other item had shipped.
Cool, thought my shopping was done.
Not, the case :(

Yesterday I received this email from them:
Dear Target.com Guest,

We’re writing to advise you that we aren’t able to fulfill your order #602-0341776-8245857 for the xxxxxxx (x’d out just incase she reads this! lol) you recently ordered.

You probably have already received an e-mail stating that it shipped, but unfortunately that e-mail was sent to you in error. Since we don’t have the available inventory to fulfill your order at this time, we’ll refund your credit card in full. We have requested a refund for the game, which should post to your credit card account within 7 to 10 business days. We’ll also send you a confirmation e-mail when we finish processing your refund.

Okay, not cool!
email me with just 10 days til Christmas but I figured okay let me call them and tell them to NOT cancel order and ship it when in stock — hoping that they’d just send and I can give for her birthday.
I spent over 30 minutes talking to some clueless chic at their call center, who then came back after putting me on hold for a third time to tell me that my item wasn’t in stock!!!
ummm yea I know that!
Another 10 minutes go by and she still wasn’t grasping the concept of ship the item WHEN it does come in stock.
I finally got to the point where I realized this was going nowhere other than racking up minutes on my cell, so why bother…I laughed, said forget it and hung up.
Within a minute, I got an email requesting I do a “customer service survey” regarding my phone call.
Sure…FAILED, CLUELESS, LOUSY
Wonder if it even matters? Do they really read those or care?
Because, after I posted on Twitter and Facebook others said they had the same experience this year with Target (amongst other companies).
You’d think if companies are hurting and needing business, they’d treat their customers better and try to resolve any issues rather than have clueless customer service reps!
Needless to say, I’m off in a few to go locate said item that Target doesn’t have to ship and I will succeed!!!!

Update
Read this post for the excellent customer service from GameStop! Thanks Target for screwing up, now GameStop gets my biz.

What happened to gratitude?

Posted by Tara Burner on November 17, 2009

I just have to write about this tonight.
As many of my readers know, I Freecycle a lot of items so they can go to someone else rather than trash them.
Often times the items are brand new, still in packaging or possibly used once.
Regardless, the items I give are always in excellent condition.
Last week my teen decided to clean her room, thus I had a pile of things to get rid of.

I posted all of them on Freecycle, made arrangements for people to pick up said items.
A few people emailed back saying “Thank you”, and “appreciate the ______”
and Thank you goes out from me to those people!
A simple “Thank you” will go along way, and gratitude is appreciated.

Meanwhile, I had a guy who was coming to pick up a brand new pair of flip flops, brand new still in the package never opened voice recorder and some Jonas Bros buttons.
I had another listing for a Camp Rock Baseball cap as well; however, didn’t know the guy wanted that since he didn’t specify that.
He had emailed saying that he’d like the jonas bros stuff, flip flops, voice recorder.
So, I bag up the stuff, leave it out front for when he can pick up.
Within about 15 minutes of his picking up the items he emailed me saying
“Hi i asked for the jonas hats also what happened?”
I was almost floored!
That was all he sent in the email…just that one line.
Not a “thank you”, nothing….just him wondering why he didn’t get the hat, which he hadn’t asked for.
He asked for “jonas bros stuff” but the listing for the hat said “Camp Rock” and granted Joe Jonas is on the hat but he didn’t specify thus the hat went to another woman who did say thank you!

I didn’t even respond to this ungrateful person’s email because well honestly why bother?
If he’s already uptight and unappreciative why do I want to get into further negative conversation with him?
But, I was truly blown away by the fact that he got brand new items and yet was more concerned about the baseball hat.
I mean, okay I know Joe Jonas is a hottie, but c’mon now.

So, I guess my point here is if you’re getting something (especially something(s) that are new, free, etc.) be grateful and appreciate what you’ve been given.
A little gratitude and appreciation goes a long way and can only be a good thing, whereas, being ungrateful and not appreciating life’s gifts will bring about nothing but the same back to you.
It’s that thing…you know…”sowing and reaping”, “karma”, “what goes around comes around”…whatever you want to call it…if you don’t appreciate the ‘little’ things then how will you expect to be given the opportunity to be able to experience the ‘big things’.

A simple “thanks” will suffice, not a one liner email complaining because you didn’t get something that you didn’t even ask for.
Be grateful!

thankyou

Holiday scammers already out

Posted by Tara Burner on October 10, 2009

Wow, I know every year the stores start getting the holiday decorations out earlier and earlier and apparently the holiday scammers are coming out earlier as well.

holidayscammer

Normally right before Thanksgiving I receive numerous emails directed to different businesses I own or myself personally requesting anything from “free samples”, products for non existent foundations for supposed give away contests, money for some hardship, products to “help others” (because we all know that people in real dire straights must have their mineral makeup — yes, last year I had a woman who sent me an email stating “I help homeless regain their confidence and make them feel better, so please give me some makeup from your company to achieve this”), there’s a woman online who’s house has burned down to the foundation 2 or 3 yrs in a row! This year the emails have already started rolling in, even before Halloween–just like the stores–they already have Christmas stuff out too! Wonder if scammers coordinate their scamming schedule to store holiday schedule?

If these people would use their time and abilities constructively they could probably make a legitimate income or means of obtaining their desires, rather than scamming or attempting to scam people.

I’m not saying all requests are bogus or someone trying to scam free product or money. Do your research if you’re not sure if someone is legit or not. I usually rely on my gut (or the holy spirit) and thus far it hasn’t steered me wrong.

It is not without good reason said, that he who has not a good memory should never take upon him the trade of lying. ~Michel de Montaigne, translated

The quote above should be memorized by those scamming, since apparently they don’t recall to whom they’ve already emailed last year the exact same email “requesting free product”.

While it’s an awesome feeling to help others and bless others, you also have to use discernment and common sense on who to assist and who not to. Those with kind hearts, just don’t get taken in by all the scammers.

Grab the preserver

Posted by Tara Burner on September 26, 2009

Sink or swim…Yes, I know…that saying is old and cliche’ but it’s true.

Recently I’ve seen numerous people complaining, whining about their lives…be it lack of job, recently unemployed, they don’t like current job, don’t know what to do with their lives..the list goes on.

I’ve also seen (as well as given) advice to these same people that would enable them to get out of the situation they’re in and rise above their dissatisfaction and gloom & doom. However, for some reason some people ignore, push aside the information and they continue to drown in their sorrows.

lifepreserver

People toss a life preserver to one in need and the person drowning simply refuses to grab it.

It’s almost like in the “Monk Becomes A Private Eye” episode where Monk has no choice but to jump off of a boat into the water, not knowing if he can swim or not. He keeps his head above water for a bit before he sees  something floating…but it’s a toilet seat and knowing Monk as we do, he refuses to hold it to keep himself up. However, Monk does manage to swim on his own until he’s picked up in another boat.

Are you afraid of the life preserver?
Afraid to grab hold and be saved?
Do you prefer having excuses and be unhappy yet unwilling to improve your situation?

The difference is, Monk fought to swim on his own whereas too many people now prefer to simply wallow in doubt, uncertainty and drown. If you’re not going to swim on your own, then grab the preserver and take the advice of others and be active to improve the situation.

So, today if you’re facing difficult, annoying, frustrating situations and you’re offered advice, help, guidance you have two choices: grab it and swim or be afraid to touch it and sink. Nobody can force you to swim, but you can be taught, guided, assisted, motivated to do so…but you have to be willing.

Has “Jesus” cut you off?

Posted by Tara Burner on September 4, 2009

Hmmm bet that got your attention huh?!

I’m sure you’ve all seen the “Jesus fish” that people put on their cars, or the “I LUV Jesus”, “I heart Jesus” bumper stickers, etc.
What comes to mind when you see them?
Do you hold the driver to a higher level of accountability?
Do you have them on your car? If so, are you conscious of how you’re driving? Being conscious of how you’re portraying a Christian driver?

Just a few quick facts from http://christianjourney.com/christian/emblems.html:
Today Christians still use the fish as a symbol of their Christianity and to help spread the message of Jesus Christ. It transcends differences in cultures and denominations. Throughout generations the fish symbol continues to identify the true followers of Jesus Christ. The name of Jesus brings the power of life and salvation. In a word, the name of Jesus captures the central message of the Christian faith. Together with the symbol of the fish, this emblem reminds the world that our faith isn’t about religion, but a relationship with the Living God through Jesus Christ.

jesusfish

Three times in the last two weeks I’ve been cut off by drivers “proclaiming” their Christianity via their bumpers.
The first one was on the way to my daughter’s school of all places. A guy in an SUV nearly drove into us pulling into the school parking lot and lo and behold a “Jesus Fish” emblem (ICHTHUS Fish Symbol) was on the rear of the SUV.
I used to scream holler and rant at people who drove like idiots, I’m getting much better…not perfect…but much better (but then again I don’t have any emblems, decals, logos, bumper stickers on my car so if I screw up and scream at someone who’s just cut me off at least I’m not openly, publicly tarnishing Jesus’ name (though He’ll know I did anyhow, if I were to).
I didn’t say a word…but my daughter goes with attitude, “well, is that how Jesus would’ve driven? Instead of W.W.J.D. they should have H.D.J.D (How Does Jesus Drive) stickers and bracelets”
I was shocked that she even noticed, much less made a comment.
But, she had valid points! This person who just got done nearly running us into the median was showing the world that they were Christian, yet driving far from Christ like. Their time and their kids were more important than us in their mind, they felt it was ok to go ahead cut the line, dearly hitting my car,  all so they could save about 10 seconds yet in the process they left a bad impression of Christians.

Then earlier this week, a woman in a truck pulled out in front of me in a parking lot. She never even slowed down at the stop sign, just ran that stop sign with her flashy silver ICHTHUS Fish emblem in tact proudly displayed on the bumper of her car.

Finally, today coming home from school making a right turn into my apartment complex another SUV came at us from across 2 lanes of traffic, and nearly ran right into us making me slam on my brakes. Meanwhile their entire back end was plastered with “I love Jesus”, “Jesus is the Way”, ICHTHUS Fish decal and a slew of other Christian bumper stickers! Yep, that’s how Jesus would drive…NOT! This driver didn’t even look over, just sped down the entry way, through the gate and on their way. I’m pretty sure they never even once thought about the fact that they’ve got Jesus’ name everywhere and that someone may just think that their driving and nearly plowing into us was not something Jesus would smile upon or bless them for.

Now, it’s normal (least here in South Florida) to be cut off, road rage, etc. and normally it wouldn’t be a thought provoking incident except that these 3 stand out because of their decals and bumper stickers. Like the bold comments state, “Today Christians still use the fish as a symbol of their Christianity and to help spread the message of Jesus Christ” and “Together with the symbol of the fish, this emblem reminds the world that our faith isn’t about religion, but a relationship with the Living God through Jesus Christ”, sadly those statements aren’t the impressions people get when they’re cut off by someone with the symbol of the fish on their car.

None of us are perfect, far from it. But, when we’re in the world and doing things that others can ‘judge’ us by, we should be exceptionally watchful of our behavior (which we should be all the time!) and that what we do, how we act/speak, is a good example of how Christ works in our lives and be a living example to those who don’t know Him.

Passage Matthew 5:13-16:
Teaching about Salt and Light
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.
14 “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

So, to those with the fish emblem and Jesus bumper stickers on your cars….are you going to be conscious of your driving and the impression you’re leaving in the world or continue cutting off people and driving recklessly in His Name and Image?

Birds creep me out

Posted by Tara Burner on May 29, 2009

Okay, for those that know me..y’all already know that I do not like ducks or any bird of any sort.
They freak me out and creep me out.

Shall I blame it on Alfred Hitchcock??? (“The Birds”)
thebirds

I don’t know but for whatever reason, they freak me out.

I remember when my son was 3 or 4 and he insisted he had to have parakeets. I gave in (being the good mommy I am lol) and got him 2 parakeets. Needless to say, we came home one day and they had escaped their cage but were still in the house. I was not about to touch one and get it back in the cage…I mean they have beaks and can peck ya know. So, I called a friend to come over and round them up. My son also decided at that point that birds weren’t the ideal pet and we gave them to the friend who captured them and off they went to a loving home.

Fast forward 16 years…I still do not like birds or ducks (yes I know ducks ARE birds, but they’re the big fat webbed feet kind so they have their own odd distinction with me).

Now, after today’s walk with Chico…I really do not like birds. We walk the same route 3 times a day every day and never had any problems with birds until today! Walking along and I know there’s a bird nest in one tree we have to walk under (it hangs over the sidewalk) and we usually walk quickly so as not to upset the birds. Well, apparently today we didn’t do something ‘right’ because as soon as we got near that particular area a bird came swooping down on me…could ‘feel’ it by my hair moving. Chico’s freaking out and trying to go after it, and me…I’m just trying to get the heck outta there. It didn’t matter though, that bird came diving down on us!!!!! He was relentless for about 20 yards…swoop down on me, fly away, swoop down on chico, fly away, hang out in tree for a minute then make another attempt on our lives (ok so that may be a bit dramatic). This is why I do not like birds…you can’t predict what they’re going to do, you can’t see them coming (they swoop quickly!) and I fear their beaks!

We finally get out of it’s target area, keep walking to the lake without any problems. So, I figure I’ll be ’smart’ and walk on the opposite side of the street to go back just to avoid the attack bird. That wasn’t good enough!!!! He came swooping down on us even on the opposite side of the street…and kept swooping down us!! Ok, this is not fun! I had to grab Chico and run with him and meanwhile yes I was screaming at the bird!!! Glad there was nobody on the street watching all this drama unfold…had to have been a sight to see!

And, now we’re home safe…but alas where am I going to walk Chico later? Or shall I go get a suit of armor for myself and chico?

Have I mentioned, I do not like birds!

Trade Secrets & How To’s

Posted by Tara Burner on April 29, 2009

I suppose this is a ‘business rant’…
Do you ask businesses for their trade secrets or their “how to’s”?

topsecret

For years I’ve had people email me asking me for directions, information, tips on how I do certain things.
Asking me how I design a cake or how to make cupcake cakes, etc.
Now granted, I did just now release an ebook for free on How to Make Cupcake Cakes, but previously that wasn’t info I just gave away for free. I certainly don’t tell anyone how I designed any of my other cakes. I figure they can play around and experiment and figure it out…that’s what I had to do, nobody told me how to do it…I experimented, learned by trial and error and simply did what had to be done to get the results I wanted.

I used to own a dog bakery which I later sold. I wrote an ebook which then got converted into an article, which I sold. It can now be read here for free and lays out some information on how to start a pet bakery. When I had the dog bakery though, people would call and ask for my recipes. Needless to say, I’d tell them to buy the product and not give them my trade secrets!

I’ve also received questions from people requesting the “recipes/mixture combinations” for the shades of makeup I have at Affordable Mineral Makeup. Well, I’m sorry…why would I give that information out for free, when I sell the finished product?

I have a family to support, money to earn thus I own my own businesses and those businesses support us and provide my income.

I have a friend, Jill, who owns Jills Artwork and people contact her regularly asking her to share how she does her painting. Call me silly, but that’s her business, that’s her talent, that’s how she makes money. If you like what she does…pay her to do it! I know I do…because well anyone who knows me, knows I cannot paint! So, guess what… I’m not going to ask Jill to explain to me how to do it…I’m simply going to pay her to do it for me!

Do people not realize that a business is a business…the means of providing for a household, providing finances for that person.
Would they call a mainstream huge corporation and ask them for their ’secret ingredient’ and actually expect to receive that information?
I doubt it, so why do people do this to small business owners?
And, the worst part is when the person doing the inquiring gets totally irate and goes off the handle calling you mean, selfish, along with other choice names all because you won’t let them know your recipe, your how to’s, your information.
Are people just lazy and/or cheap? or???
Do they not want to invest in ‘learning’ how to do whatever it is they’re requesting information on (be it cake decorating, painting or otherwise)?
Do they not want to invest the time and energy…the learn by trial and error process…that’s how the rest of us learn…by doing and doing it again until it’s right and we have the experience and skills to get the end result we desire.
Do they not want to spend the money to just buy the end item from someone who is skilled in that area?

I just do not get it…
I can’t imagine asking a business owner or business person for them to divulge how they do something or make something.
That thought would never enter my mind.
If I liked what they did, I’d just pay them to do it if I wanted it.

Now, there are times you can give some info for free but you shouldn’t give it all away. Like friends asking how they can convert to organic, vegetarian, vegan, or raw lifestyles as well as stress management…I’ll help with some info to get them started. But that’s a service I also get paid for, a service which I’ve invested time, energy, money into training, certifications, etc. So there is a limit of what can be given away and what you simply should paid for!

So, hey if you want to ask a business how they do something or how they produce their product…that’s up to you but don’t get mad when they either hit delete and don’t respond or tell you that they’re not going to divulge that information.

Financial Problem Excuses & Direct Sales Businesses

Posted by Tara Burner on April 25, 2009

Ok it’s getting towards the end of the month.
Quota time for many direct sales companies.
You know….quota: the thing you have to meet in order to stay active in a direct sales company.
Some are $100/month, others are $150 or more, some are only $25 or $30.
Regardless, most companies have quota’s because well…they want to make sure their reps/consultants make an effort and work the business.
I mean the company has invested in product, advertising, marketing, training reps, materials, etc. etc. so it’s part of business.
If you have no vested interest in the company, you’ll most likely not work, be lax or just not care or do much with it.

But, wait quota time and month end also bring up excuses and ‘reasons’ why people just can’t make quota.

I mean, I could be wrong here but people go into business to make money…or not??
I mean I’m in it to make money, I have bills to pay, things I want to do…all of which take money!
Seriously, aren’t people in business to make money?

I could be wrong about that though, from what I’ve been hearing for about 5 or 6 months though.
Yes, I own a direct sales business.
I own Affordable Mineral Makeup as well as Teen Mineral Makeup.
I offer people a few different ways to make money…one way is to be a quota consultant which means they have to have a certain amount of retail sales in a month or they’re deactivated from the company.

Now, I assume that when people become consultants they do it so they can make money. I know some people join direct sales companies to get the discount for their own purchases and that’s totally cool too. The only problem with that is, if there’s not enough product you want every single month in order to meet your quota then what do you do? In the case of my business if people just want to take advantage of a discount without any monthly obligation they could just join the buyer’s club and not worry about quota’s or anything but still enjoy the nice discount.

What I’ve been hearing a lot of lately (not just from people who work for my companies but on a lot of wahm boards, wahm networks) are stories about how or why these reps can’t meet quota and how they want to be waived from having to meet it.

Example:
Jane: I lost my job, so I can’t meet quota. Can you excuse me for two or three months until I find a job.
Jane 2: My hubby was laid off so I can’t meet quota.
Jane 3: Jane Jr has to go to girl scout camp so I can’t meet quota.

You get the idea right?
Excuses….

So, let’s get this right….
You get the pink slip from your normal FT job and then you want to not have to work for the direct sales company you have quota with… Is that right?

pinkslip.jpg

Your husband got laid off and now you can’t spend his money to make sure you meet your quota…is that right?
You have other family obligations therefore you can’t spend money on product so you meet your quota…is that right?

Now, here’s a thought…
if you’re with a direct sales company to make money then GO MAKE MONEY!
Do not rely on your own purchases to meet quota.
That’s not profitable for you.
You need to advertise, market, network, be active, solicit, hold home parties, hold online parties, communicate with others, post on forums, be active be active be active!!!!!!
You’re in business to make money, not buy product for yourself month after month after month.

So…you lost your job….well then you have TIME to promote your direct sales business…get out there…get orders!
So…your hubby got laid off…quit spending his money and go advertise and make some money to help your family out!
So…your kid needs something…go get some orders so you can get the money for it!

If you’re hit with financial hardship, I’m sorry.
But to me, that’d be all the more reason for you to bust a move, get off your tush and work your business, get those orders, meet quota, make money and help your household!
That’s not the time to sit around and plea for your quota to be waived.
Nor is it the time when the owner says “no sorry, either meet quota or be deactivated”, to start bashing the owner or being upset about it.

Stop and think about this….if all a business’s reps decided they simply couldn’t meet quota for whatever excuse how would that affect the business?

If businesses don’t have orders, they don’t make money, if they don’t make money, they go out of business…

So, instead of excuses and “reasoning” (which makes no sense really) about why you ‘think’ you need to be waived from quota’s… get up, be bold, be strong and go get CUSTOMERS AND CLIENTS and quit relying on your own purchases…that’s not what business and money making is about!

On a side note, my 20 yr old son and I were just talking about this and his response “Mommas (yep that’s what he calls me) if these people lose their jobs or whatever why don’t they just work harder to make money with their other companies”
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH that’s my boy!!!!!!
Now, if a 20 yr old male can figure that concept out surely grown women can?!
