Green Giveaway Wednesday: Biodegradable Twist Sponge Cloths
Posted by Tara Burner on December 31, 2008
This week’s winner will receive Twist Sponge Cloth 3-Pack compliments of GoGreenHomeMakeover.com
What if a sponge and a paper towel had a love affair?
The result would be these biodegradable and compostable Sponge Cloths.
They easily wipe kitchen and bath surfaces like a paper towel and absorb like a sponge.
Replaces 17 full Rolls of Paper Towels!
Use your Sponge Cloth for everything from spills to regular kitchen cleanup, and help us realize our vision of a clean world. Sponges are safe for all types of cookware (including non-stick) and 100% biodegradable. To clean and disinfect sponges, you can put in the dishwasher, place in the microwave for one minute, or boil.

HI !
I’d love to win!!
I read the recycling tips and honed in on this one.” Lower the temperature in your home (wear a sweater, use an extra blanket, etc.).” I actually turn the heat off to the entire house during the day and just use a small space heater here in my home office if I really need it. That saves me on our bill and energy!!

• Dig up some of the grass in your lawn and plant native shrubs and trees instead.
Every year I dig up more and more of my lawn to plant beds. The little grass I do have, I mow with a push mower - extra exercise and no gas usage!

Lower the temperature in your home (wear a sweater, use an extra blanket, etc.).
We do this now, especially at night. It helps that we have a programmable thermostat and set it to turn itself down at night and times we’re at work.

One of my favorite tips is to lower the temperature in your home (wear a sweater, use an extra blanket, etc.). We lower the temp at night and use lots of blankets. When I’m home alone in the day I lower the temp and wear my big, comfy sweatshirt and slippers.

Use natural cleaners rather than chemical cleansers. For example, use vinegar and water to clean your windows. (or find a Natural Cleaning Service in your area). I use vinegar and water to wash my floors.

After reading the recycling tips I realize that while I thought I was doing a good job in that area, I found there is so much more I could be doing. One tip I found I will be starting immediately would be to complete more simple tasks by hand rather an using electrical appliances.

The tip about using natural cleaners is a good one and something that I do in my home. It’s amazing how well vinegar and baking soda can clean, and also that it’s safe to use around my baby, who puts his mouth on everything.
Tonya said,
I already turn off everything all the time(my family says obsessively, hehe).I also don’t leave water running.
