    Mineral makeup: sun protection

    Mineral makeup: sun protection
    by Stacey Graham

Even though the sun isn’t at its peak this season, the dangers of skin cancer are still present.  Mineral makeup is a good start to fighting off the signs of aging and may offer some protection against harmful rays but you still need to do your part for your skin.

Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are two of the main ingredients found in both mineral makeup and sunscreen but will it really do the complete job?  Experts say no, you should still wear a layer of sunscreen beneath your mineral makeup before going outside.  The makeup acts as an extra line of defense for your skin but shouldn’t be the only protection you use.

Protect the health of your skin by developing a two-part program: a good cream or lotion-based sunscreen followed by mineral makeup to complete your beauty regimen every day.
